I never finished this story yet, but this is for your enjoyment!!
Chapter 1
Kathleen Reese walked home from school with her only friend, Madison. “What is your Dad working on now?” Madison asked. Kathleen responded, “ I am not sure but, he is doing something with our old refrigerator.” When the girls arrived at the Reese home, Madison and Kathleen said goodbye and Kathleen went inside the house. Her Mom was there waiting for her. “ Kathleen! Your father and I have a surprise for you……. You are going to be homeschooled!” She said. Kathleen was surprised and thanked her mother many times. Walking upstairs, Kathleen heard her father’s drill in the garage. Arriving in her room, she sat down to work on her homework.

Kathleen’s father, Thomas came into the house for dinner. Coming down the stairs, Kathleen said, “ Dad! Hey, what are you working on out there?” “ That’s for me to know and you to find out when it's finished, Kate!” He replied with a chuckle. At the sound of a “SUPPER’s ready” from Kathleen’s mom, Bridget, they went to the dining room.

Chapter 4
“So, What is our old refrigerator doing with a clock attached to it?” Kathleen asked. Her father chuckled and said, “ Katie, this is a time-machine!” He demonstrated how 2 people could fit inside the (surprisingly) spacious refrigerator and wind the clock and end up in the past. “Kathleen, do you want to try it out with me?” Thomas asked. “I couldn’t pass at this!” She laughed. And, they winded the clock up and stepped inside.

Chapter 5
The refrigerator shook and then was still. “Should I open the door, Dad?” Kathleen asked. His reply was, “ That was amazing! Of course, Kathleen!” Kathleen opened the door to find them in a house. Thomas saw a calendar on the wall that was dated 1766. “Dad, I hear gunfire!” Kathleen told her father. Thomas looked at her and said, “ Kate, That’s musket fire.”

Chapter 6
“The American Revolution!” Kathleen shouted “shh, Kate. I find the War for Independence sounds better.” Thomas said. There was clothes lying on the table, clothes to fit a thirteen year old girl and clothes to fit a grown man. They put the clothes on over their twenty-first century garb. Thomas opened the door of the house they were in and he and his daughter stepped out in the street.
